What is the needle we need today?

Overview

I was chosen as one of 15 students to collaborate with Hermès' IDO team, where I led the interaction design for a wearable color picker and work hands-on with an industrial designer to create prototypes and bring the product vision to life, helping shape the future of in-the-pocket objects for Hermès clientele.

Overview

Pitched the final product concept April 2025, and displayed prototypes to the Hermès executive team members. Iterated through 10 prototypes, tested with 10 stakeholders. The product received positive feedback.

Intuitive capture

Color from your world — lemon jam, the sky, or puppy's hair

Point at Sunday's lemon jam, spot the sky on a snow trip, find your puppy's hue and capture the shades that inspire you wherever you go.

Designed for you

Wear a palette that is uniquely yours, inside and out.

Capture color, let it blend, carry your charm and express the palette that defines you everyday.

Effortless connection

Invite conversation, uncover memories

Spark curiosity, share origins, relive memories and uncover the moments behind every color you wear — like that sea otter brown from a family trip to Monterey Bay.

Take a closer look

Observe holistically on how people physically interact with objects in their daily context and environment to design beyond the screen.

Iterating on design solutions

I experimented solutions with vibe coding using Figma Make to speed up implementation for usability testing and discussions with stakeholders.

Where it all began

To ground our work in Hermès’ values, we headed over to the Paris headquarters to meet Pierre Alexis Dumas, the Artistic Director. This visit opened my eyes to the whimsy and vision that define the house, helping me make design decisions that focus on users and bring a little joy.
